Camden Point is located just minutes north of the Kansas City International Airport. Our community was founded in the early 1800's with a rich history, predating the civil war. We have preserved a special cemetery as a remember.
Buried in the cemetery are 7 soldiers who fought at the "Battle of Camden Point." A Missouri Battle Flag is flown over the site, and markers are placed in their memory each memorial day.
Our community is made up of people from many walks of life. We have everyone from farmers and ranchers to white collar professionals. We love our down home country living and feel confident that our kids will grow up with a quality education and good ol' family moral values.
The Camden Point Freedom Festival was actually formed back in 1993. Dayleen Welch, of Camden Point, and Pastor Brent (& Holly) Baxley of Camden Point Baptist Church decided to raise funds to start a community event for our small town (currently at 484 according to the population sign by the ball field). They walked the neighborhood asking town folk and businesses for small donations and fourteen years later here we are still going strong and growing each year.
Today, the Camden Point Freedom Festival attracts about 2000 people from our community and surrounding counties. We take pride in saying that this event has always been and will continue to be a safe family oriented event with professional fireworks displayed in honor of our past and present military personnel who have fought so hard to keep us safe and free here in the USA. THANK YOU TROOPS!
It's an annual Independence Day Celebration with our own small town parade, lots of good food, fun & Entertainment and everyone is welcome so come join us for this special community event.
